Become a Coach

Become a Stingball® Coach - and drive a Renault Clio in Stingball® livery?

A new sport such as Stingball® will need dedicated coaches who are committed to working with their teams of players and who are in turn looking to benefit from this exciting game in so many ways. Fitness, mobility, possible weight-loss and improved hand-eye co-ordination are just a few of the benefits that players will see within a very few months of playing the game.

The benefits for good coaches, who can encourage people to join teams and return each week to play in competitive Stingball® sessions, don't stop at extra hourly income.

Yes, the money is useful for each hour of coaching but there are other benefits, too. How would you like to have the equivalent of the monthly lease payments on a Stingball® liveried Renault Clio (up to £150 per month) paid to you? You pay the deposit, then we pay for the logo film application and the monthly leasing fee. All you have to do is join us as a Professional Coaching Member, pay for and attend a Coaching Course, build a regular group of 100 members each booking on line and playing Stingball® at least once per month* in your group sessions to earn this extra £150 per month, in addition to your normal hourly pay.

Something to think about? Certainly!

Come along to our next Stingball® session and try the game out, talk to the founders to see how you can apply - or, if you're too excited to wait, contact us today!!

Coaches always need to be one step ahead because these are the committed professionals who will know the rules and be able to coach the players whilst refereeing the games. And we do say professionals, because these individuals will be able to earn good money (up to £50 per hour**) for the time they spend overseeing their local games. More information is available upon application because it is important that the Stingball® management consider all applicants in a proper manner. If you are serious about this exciting opportunity and wish to apply to become a Stingball® coach, CLICK HERE

All applications will be seriously considered, however preference (and a discount on the fee) will be given to personal trainers, qualified coaches (in other sports), teachers and others who may already have Level 1 or 2 basic coaching qualifications and who wish to enhance their careers by adding one or more Stingball® coaching qualifications. Applications for trainee coaches will be considered also.

The WSA aims to develop a world-class Stingball® coach education system that delivers coaches who are fully fit for purpose in sufficient numbers at all levels for the needs of every player at every stage of their development.

We therefore aim to develop a world-class learning environment and support system for the continuously-learning coach in pursuit of the above. One of the ways we will achieve our ambition is by developing a Stingball® United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (SUKCC) to ultimately match those issued in other sports as recognised by the Sports Councils throughout the United Kingdom.

Once we have developed regional Stingball® activities to a competitive level, we intend to approach the government in order that the SUKCC may become part of the Government-led strand of work that arose from the Coaching Task Force that reported in September 2002. 31 sports are involved in this UK-wide initiative and we want to make Stingball® the 32nd! It may be possible, as we grow, to apply for funding from Sport England to develop the SUKCC for Stingball®

The UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) is an endorsement of sports-specific coach education. It ensures that sports are delivering the best available, athlete-centred coaching in recreational, development and performance environments. We intend to present successful Delivery Plans, initially to each of the Home Country Sports Councils in the United Kingdom, for funding to support the development of the Stingball® United Kingdom Coaching Certificate.

How will the SUKCC benefit coaches?

-	Enhance coaching skills, linked to the player pathway -	Raise the profile and professionalism of sports coaching -	More flexible, coach-centred training programmes -	UK wide, recognized qualifications (to be rolled out in other countries) -	Provides a benchmark for employers and deployers of coaches -	Core coaching skills are recognized and transferable between sports -	A UK-wide endorsement of top quality, safe coaching

Our vision is for the SUKCC to change and develop the shape and quality of coach education across the sport of Stingball® - taking benefit from what others in different sporting disciplines have already achieved. It is about taking all of what we do very seriously and making the WSA, our franchisees and our coaching teams even better equipped to meet the needs of our game.

The UKCC is a 4-level coaching structure, which the WSA intends to adopt;

What qualified coaches will be able to do

at Level 4. Design, implement and evaluate the process and outcome of long-term/specialist coaching programmes
at Level 3. Plan, implement, analyse and revise annual coaching programmes (typically as a Stingball® franchisee/coach)
at Level 2. Prepare for, deliver and review coaching session(s) alone
at Level 1. Assist more qualified coaches, delivering aspects of coaching sessions, normally under direct supervision.

Level 1 & 2 Training for coaches (see above) will be included in their very own “Coaching Sign-Up” pack, which incorporates a two-day training session, to include Basic First Aid tuition along with training on the rules of the game, the WSA and its philosophies (see WSA), the Stingball® Charter and the legal responsibilities of becoming a coach (including DBS, formerly CRB, checks).

The World Stingball® Association is firmly committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment for all young people to play Stingball® (see Little Stingers). It accepts its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all young people and protect them from poor practice, abuse and bullying. With this in mind, the WSA has developed policies, procedures and guidelines that apply to all individuals involved in Stingball® - be they acting in a paid or voluntary capacity.

*Terms & Conditions Apply within Coaching Sign-Up Pack. £150 per month paid in arrears for each month where at least 100 members join up, purchase Stingball® Dollars each month, book online and play regularly at matches organised by the coach.

**Depends upon the membership play levels each game (maximum 40 players at any one time)

It didn’t feel like a workout, it felt like a great hour with friends where I laughed so much my belly hurt and I burned 600 calories.
